Clearly organized.
Indian designation system for fluoropolymer dispersions and moulding / extrusion materials, including PTFE-related raw-material classifications.
Specify resin type, processing route and the full material designation.
The 2025 publisher record supersedes the 2020 edition. This is a resin designation route, not a finished spiral-wound gasket specification. The historical product manual supports the PTFE connection but does not verify the revised 2025 property tables.

Chemical & Mechanical Properties
Select a table to compare the source-labelled material data.
| Grade / identification | Material | Qualification |
|---|---|---|
| PTFE Polymer — UNS not applicable | Polytetrafluoroethylene | Virgin / unfilled for AMS 3667; check the required resin designation for IS 14635. |
Polymer identity and resin classification, not metallic elemental composition.
These published alloy values are comparison data. The IS 14635 (Part 1) acceptance limits must be checked in the specified revision.
PTFE: resin type, processing route, product form and specimen preparation determine the required mechanical tests and limits.
Typical properties are comparison values. Manufacturer limits marked “min” apply only to the stated product. Confirm the ordered revision, thickness, heat treatment, specimen direction and gauge length before material acceptance.
Engineered for demanding service.
Grade selection depends on the process environment, temperature, corrosion exposure and equipment design.
From material specification to gasket construction
Select the required product form, grade, delivery condition and certification for the approved gasket construction. Finished gasket dimensions and performance requirements are established separately.

Short answers for engineers and purchasing teams.
How should IS 14635 (Part 1) be specified?
State the revision, exact material grade, product form, dimensions, delivery condition and certification requirements on the purchase order.
Are the displayed properties specification acceptance limits?
The tables identify published manufacturer reference data. Typical values describe the stated reference product and are not certified IS 14635 (Part 1) limits. Use the ordered revision for material acceptance.
Are these all the materials covered by the standard?
This page links selected materials already present on the website. The linked material list is not the complete scope of the standard.
