Composition & Mechanical Properties
| Grade / UNS | N % | C % | H % | Fe % | O % | Al % | V % | Residuals % | Ti |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Titanium Grade 2 R50400 | ≤0.030 | ≤0.080 | ≤0.015 | ≤0.30 | ≤0.25 | — | — | ≤0.10 each / ≤0.40 total | Balance |

Composition values are mass percentages. ≤ indicates a maximum; ≥ indicates a minimum.
| Grade / UNS | Product form / condition | Tensile min (MPa) | Yield min (MPa) | Elongation min (%) | Hardness | Yield max (MPa) | Bend test |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Titanium Grade 2 R50400 | Annealed · Sheet / strip / plate | 345 | 275 | 20 | — | 450 | 4T / 5T |
| Titanium Grade 5 R56400 | Annealed · Sheet / strip / plate | 895 | 828 | 10 | — | — | 9T / 10T |
- Yield has both minimum and maximum limits for Grade 2; the maximum is shown separately.
- Bend values are for thickness below 0.070 in. and 0.070–0.187 in., respectively. T is specimen thickness; bend testing excludes thickness above 0.187 in. (4.75 mm).
- For Grade 5 below 0.025 in. (0.635 mm), elongation is established by negotiation.
- Mechanical properties for non-annealed conditions or plate thicker than 1 in. (25 mm) are established by agreement.
From material form
to gasket component.
Review the listed material grade and its delivery condition when selecting winding strip or ring stock for a specified gasket design.
Material standards and gasket standards serve different purposes.
ASTM B265 addresses the material forms identified on this page. Finished metallic gasket requirements are addressed separately by the applicable gasket standard.

Which website material grades are included?
Titanium Grade 2, Titanium Grade 5.
What edition is used for these tables?
The tables use ASTM B265-02.
Are material properties independent of condition?
No. The mechanical table identifies the applicable product form, condition and dimensional range for each listed row.
