SS904L 1.4539
SS904L is presented here as X1NiCrMoCu25-20-5 (1.4539) under EN 10088-2. Stainless steel sheet, plate and strip for general purposes.
Data edition: EN 10088-2:2005, Tables 3, 4, 10 and 11. Duplex 2205 and Duplex S31803 both use EN 1.4462 here. For narrow strip tested longitudinally, the austenitic minimum Rp0.2 is 15 MPa lower; A80 is 5 percentage points lower and A is 2 points lower. Stretcher-levelled 1.4301 has elongation minima 5 points lower. The 1% proof values in this edition are informative. Special sulphur ranges in Table 3 footnote b apply to machining or welding supply conditions.

Select a table to compare requirements.
| Element | Mass % |
|---|---|
| C | ≤0.020 |
| Si | ≤0.70 |
| Mn | ≤2.00 |
| P | ≤0.030 |
| S | ≤0.010 |
| Cr | 19.0–21.0 |
| Ni | 24.0–26.0 |
| Mo | 4.0–5.0 |
| N | ≤0.15 |
| Other elements | Cu: 1.20–2.00 |
Composition is cast analysis in mass %. Values marked ≤ are maxima; paired values are ranges. Ti and Nb expressions use the carbon content by mass. The symbol — means that this table has no limit for that entry.
| Form | Thickness (mm) | Condition | Test direction | Rp0.2 min (MPa) | Rp1.0 min (MPa) | Rm (MPa) | A80 min (%) | A min (%) | Other |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Cold-rolled strip | ≤8 | +AT | Transverse | 240 | 270 | 530–730 | 35 | 35 | — |

Room-temperature properties. Rp0.2 and Rp1.0 are minimum proof strengths; Rm is tensile strength. A80 applies below 3 mm thickness; A applies from 3 mm using a proportional gauge length of 5.65√S₀. +AT = solution annealed; +A = annealed; +RA = recrystallization annealed; +P = precipitation hardened. Strength is in MPa (N/mm²).
